THE LOGGERHEAD TURTLE

The loggerhead turtle is a very endangered animal. Nowadays, there are only about 100,000 turtles left. However, people are trying to save them.

The loggerhead turtle lives in all the seas and oceans. It lives in deep waters, but sometimes is closer to the coastal area. This turtles are carnivorous, they eat basically fish, crustaceans, molluscs...

Why is te loggerhead turtle endangered? They are hunted because of its shell and its meat. Other problem is that some fishing boats destroy their habitat.

People are trying to help the loggerhead turtle, one example is the formation of entities and organisations to protect species and their environment. There are some projects to reconstruct their natural habitat (like LIFE posidonia).

To sum up, we should help the loggerhead turtle and other endangered animals. Because we don't want them to become extinct, don't we?
